Like the Queyras Regional Park, the Ecrins National Park is an outstanding natural area. The glaciers still enjoy a presence here and have left numerous signs of the extent of their ancient activity.

This is primarily a mountain environment and its chain of principle summits, whose highest point is the Barre des Ecrins (4102m), gives the massif a complex, almost architectural structure.
